Looks Like A Triple

Filed under: Doris Update — by thepluckygastronome @ 10:17 pm

Doris is still resting at UHosp.  She underwent a battery of tests today and feels like a “pincushion.”  The doctors are recommending that she have a triple bypass to correct the blockages in her heart.  After serious thought, Doris has agreed to work towards this goal.  Her strength is still an issue and the team is working on an intermediate placement in a skilled nursing, or acute care facility located in Salt Lake City. There she can receive treatment aimed toward getting her in shape for the surgery as well as be closer to Dina and Conrad during the daytime. It also allows her to be closer to her medical team so travel time will not be as long as if she were placed closer to home.  She is hoping that she will get settled in her new facility some time tomorrow.

Echo came out of the chemo rabbit hole this evening.  She finds that generous amounts of Ben and Jerry’s helps her cope with the news from Utah.

  1. Hi Echo!
    Have you seen this?

I was so confused, as I follow both your blogs until I saw that she was giving a glowing recommendation for your blog on her blog, “Fireflies of Hope”. I have to agree with her assessment. I’m a bit of a lurker, I have to admit, but really enjoy reading both of your blogs. I was so sorry to hear of your diagnosis and we have both you and your mom in our prayers.
