Journey’s End

Filed under: Doris Update — by Plucky Gastronome @ 6:14 pm

Marv and Doris--Together again.

I got the call early today.  Mother peacefully passed away this morning at 7:37 a.m. local time.  Conrad and Chandra had stayed with her all night at the hospice and report that she had a peaceful end.

We are heartbroken but happy that she got her heart’s desire to see and be with her beloved Marv again. She missed him greatly. We will miss her terribly. She was witty and sharp of mind up until the last.

Funeral arrangements are being made as we speak. Sundberg-Olpin will be handling the funeral. More details as they become available.

Thank you all for your care and concern for our family.  We will continue to rely on your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

  2. How I will miss my friend. I so admire what an accomplished, smart woman she was. I learned a lot about and from her when I was with them. I am so grateful to have such a friend. And being family–even better–because it’s ‘locked” in. I can’t wait to see them BOTH again. Love to you–Echo, Dina, and Conrad & Chandra— What great parents you had. What a gift.

  4. I miss her already. She was so warm and vibrant and the love she gave was larger than life.

But I’ve got to study these pictures a lot closer in the hope that someday, I’ll recognize them again. It’s funny… how beautiful on the outside your parents were in their younger days…. compared to their beauty as people as they grew older.

You’re the picture of your mother, Echo. Praying for you.

  6. We had no idea how ill Doris was. It has come as quite a shock to us. I know she is happy to be with her sweety again. We will miss her as we have missed Marv.

  7. I am so sorry to hear that Doris finally got her wish, but know how sad your family must be at this difficult time. I am so glad I was able to spend some time with her last Monday and was pleasantly surprised as to how alert she was. I know we will all miss her, but we must also remember what a wonderful reunion she is having with Dear Marv. They were always there for me, whenever I needed them, and for this I will be forever grateful.
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with each of you. May the Lord Bless each of you, and especially Echo as you go about your health
    situation.

    With Love, Ann Valentine
